Jaipur: A video in which spectators can be heard raising the slogan ‘Chowkidar hi chor hai’ during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday, is going viral on social media.
‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ or (the watchman is a thief) is a political slogan used by Congress President Rahul Gandhi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi while alleging corruption in the Rafale aircraft deal.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by the prime minister has countered the attack by adding the prefix of ‘Chowkidar’ to his Twitter handle and urged other BJP leaders and supporters to do so as well.
In the viral clip, the slogan can be heard for a few seconds after Jaydev Unadkat of the Rajasthan Royals, bowls a wide. The score seen at the bottom of the screen indicates that the incident took place during the eighteenth over when KXIP had scored 160 runs while losing three wickets.
