New Delhi: In order to track down the multiple chitfunds operating in West Bengal, the Central Bureau of Investigation has sought the help of the West Bengal police, the plea was made before the Apex Court on Monday by the lawyers of CBI. They have claimed that the chit funds in West Bengal has spread like wild fire in the last few years. Hence, it is not possible to work with the present infrastructure. They have even added that the adequate number of police personnel is also lacking in West Bengal. In spite of making the authorities aware of this problem, there has not been any improvement of the situation. Therefore, they have asked for additional police forces to wipe out the chitfund circle from the State.
The CBI has demanded for three special courts and 10 other officers of the SP ranks in West Bengal to meet with the corruption in West Bengal. According to the Supreme Court, the next hearing of the case will be held on July 27.
