Kolkata: Tightening grip around the mushrooming illegal chit fund companies in West Bengal, the Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) has conducted a state wide raid on Wednesday. The sleuths raided the offices of ponzy company Ramel along with he residences of its officers.
Around 50 to 60 officers of CBI divided in several groups raided 10 to 12 locations across the state including Barasat, Lake Town, Bangur Avenue. Several vital documents have been seized during the raids, said officials.
The raids came after CBI received several complaints of illegal fund raising by the company amounting to thousands of crore rupees from the market.
