Chhota Rajan’s Name Removed From Voter List

Mumbai: Underworld don Chhota Rajan despite wielding all the influence will not be able to cast his vote now as his name has been removed from Maharashtra’s electoral roll. The fugitive could have cast his vote in the 2014 Lok Sabha and state Legislative Assembly Elections.

Rajan figured in the electoral list along with an address in Tilak Nagar, Chembur (West). Before the correction was made, Rajan and his three siblings, Prakash, Akash and Deepak, were listed under serial numbers 788, 786, 787 and 789 respectively.

The deletion of names was initiated to rectify the electoral list, as multiple names were repeated, absent, or had shifted constituencies. According to the suburban collector’s office, prior to delimitation, Rajan’s name was in the Chembur assembly constituency. Post delimitation, the name figured in the Kurla segment.

A special drive to rectify the electoral list of Mumbai suburbs was undertaken in 2015. In this drive, nearly 10 lakh voters’ names were deleted from the electoral rolls. Rajan Nikalje was one of the names deleted during the special drive and the deletion was not done as a special case as sources said.
