Chaos Over Recovery Of Rotten Body In Rajarhat


Kolkata: Chaos spread on Monday over the recovery of an unidentified body at Haroa canal in Rajarhat.

The 35-40 year old deceased had one of his hand broken. He was wearing a red colour pant and a brown colour shirt and had a height of 5 foot 7 inches. The Rajarhat police have started an investigation and have sent the body for post-mortem. A picture of the body has been sent to every police station and railways police of the state.

According to the police, the rotten body of the man was found on Monday morning at around 9:30 at Haroa canal near the Pana pond bridge under the Rajarhat police station. His left hand was broken. Investigations are on to find out whether there are any injury marks in his body.

According to witnesses, they found a body stuck in the canal. They immediately informed the Rajarhat police station who rushed to the area and rescued the body.

As per the locals, the body is not of any local and hence someone might have thrown the body here. Investigations are on to find out whether it is a murder or anything else. The police are trying to identify the body. They are also trying to ascertain whether anyone is missing whose details match with the body.
