Malda: Chaos took place in the TMC’s rally as they are observing black day. The chaos took place at Ma Ladhe’s Englishbazaar. Both the BJP and TMC party supporters allegedly attacked each other.
On one hand, TMC is observing black day protesting against hecklement of party members, on the other hand, BJP is conducting rally for the demand for NRC in West Bengal. Both got involved in brawn against each other when they crossed each other. The police rushed to the area and brought the situation under control.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) are observing “black day” throughout West Bengal on
Saturday to protest against the detention and “manhandling” of its leaders at the Silchar airport in Assam on Thursday, a senior party leader said on Friday.
TMC black day was observed in different parts of the state. Under the leadership of minister Subrata Mukherjee, black day was observed at Gariahat. A rally was taken
out where the rejection of the draft NRC Assam list was demanded.
TMC black day was also observed in Gopalnagar where the effigy of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi was burnt by TMC supporters and members.
A rally has been organised from Canning street to T board by the ruling party.
TMC secretary general and West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee on
Friday said the party will observe “black day” in every block and district of the
state on Saturday and Sunday.
“We condemn the way the public representatives were manhandled and detained by the
Assam police at the Silchar airport. They being MPs had every right to visit a
place, but all rules were violated and our party delegation was stopped. This is
shameful,” he told reporters in Kolkata. The TMC party members will wear black
