Chaos At Tengra, Firing-Bombing Reported

Update: Within few hours of the first reported firing, another fire was reportedly shot in the evening at Motijhil area. The fire by goons injured another person. It has been reported that he got the bullet injury in his hand. The motive for the attack is yet not clear. It is yet unclear as to which group carried out the second firing. The injured youth has been admitted to the hospital and the officials from the crime branch are questioning the victim.

Kolkata: Chaos spread at Tengra’s B.B. Garden over clashes between two groups on Thursday where it has been reported that guns were fired and bombings took place.

As per locals, clash broke out between two groups over the construction of a particular house in the area. Firings were reported as a result of the clash. A few rounds of bombings were also reported. Those fires shot injured a youth. Seikh Aslam, the injured youth, has been admitted to the Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital with serious bullet injuries in his leg. His condition has been stated as ‘serious’.

The locals have accused that quarrel broke out between followers of Sekh Niyajul and Sekh Majra over the booking of a newly constructed flat. It has been accused that followers of Niyajul had come to the area and threatened. Post this incident, clash broke out between followers of Nijayul and Majra. Atleast 20 rounds were reportedly fired and 2-3 bombs were hurled. Seikh Aslam got injured in the gun attack with 2 bullets pierced into his right leg.

Later on locals chased 10-15 bike-borne followers of Nijayul. They succeeded in stopping one bike, which they have set on fire. The angry mod also ransacked few houses in the area. The crime investigation department of Kolkata police and police of the Entally department reached the spot to bring the situation under control. But the situation could not be brought under control and hence the police picket and RAF had to intervene to bring the situation under control.

The police questioned injured Sheikh Aslam. He informed the police that Kalo, Bapi, Karim and Bobby are involved in the incident. The TMC MLA Sarnakamal Saha of the area complained about the inefficiency of the police to bring the situation under control. He said that, “The residents are tired of regular clashes between these two groups. The police could do nothing.”
