Chaos At Burdwan Over Spread Of Offensive Images Of Women


Burdwan: Chaos spread in Samudragarh in East Burdwan after super-imposed pictured of women of the village became viral.

The chaos led to bombing between two groups. They also injured each other with sharp objects leading to 30 villagers getting hurt. 20 out of them have been admitted in the Kalna sub-divisional hospital. 5 out of them are women.

The Nadanghat police rushed to the spot and have kept the area under observation. They have assured quick action against the culprits.

According to the police and locals, offensive pictures of 13 village women were post in social media. It was posted from an account named Sakhi Khaini. The pictures were morphed.

The villagers suspected and caught a youth who confessed to his crime. A discussion meet was also held on Tuesday night. Though he confessed to his crime on Tuesday night, he again claimed innocence on Wednesday morning. He even abused and beat the members of the meet.

The villagers then protested against this when the fight broke out between two groups. Chaos and panic sparked in the entire area as the two groups resorted to bombing and injuring each other.

Some villagers claimed that the they were completely unaware about the issue when a bomb fell on them.

According to the police, they have started an investigation to find out the truth and take legal action against everyone involved. Some suspects involved in the fight, have been arrested. The police is keeping a watch in through mobile van so that no untoward incident takes place.
