Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav have been expelled from the party over indiscipline, said party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. To save the party, we have expelled both Ram Gopal and Akhilesh Yadav for six years from the party. No one has the right to call for a nat’l executive meet other than party Chief; by doing this you have hurt the party’s interest, addresses  Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Shivpal Singh Yadav was also present.

“For us party is the most important and our priority is to save the party. Chief Minister had been ignorant of the fact that Ram Gopal was trying to weaken him.How can he (Ram Gopal)call fr emergency national executive meet without my permission? Normally at least 15 or 10 days period notice is given. I had expelled Ram Gopal Yadav earlier too. But I reinstated him as he asked for forgiveness,” said Mulayam.

I have worked really hard to make this party, what was their role in this? I work hard and they reap the fruits. I will decide on the Chief Ministerial candidate from Samajwadi Party, he adds. ” Akhilesh only believes in countering me. He doesn’t respect me as his father. I had been a Chief Minister, but was never a part of any controversy,” he ranted.

Soon after the announcement, supporters have started gathering outside Akhilesh’s residence, raising slogans against the expulsion. They teared down posters of Shivpal Singh Yadav.

Ram Gopal Yadav alleges that this is unconstitutional as both of them were expelled within two hours of the showcause notice being given and even without listening to their answers.” “The leader himself is unaware of the constitution and expects unity,” he says. He expresses his anguish saying that how can Mulayam ignore his contributions when he encourages Ram Gopal’s  company while campaigning for votes. He urged party workers to come to RM Lohiya University on Jan 1 at 11am to discuss the wrong doings in the party.

BJP’s Shrikant Sharma said that in family oriented parties, if a feud occurs in the family, the party also faces the wrath. People of Uttar Pradesh have already waved Akhilesh off, his explusion is less impactful.

JDU’s Sharad Yadav termed the expulsion as unfortunate internal matter.

Congress’s Randeep Surjewala refrained from commenting on the internal division of any party. However, he is worried about the political instability in Uttar Pradesh.
