Centre To Declassify 25 More Netaji Files Today

New Delhi:  The Narendra Modi led BJP government at the Centre will declassify 25 more files related to iconic freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Friday. This will be the third batch of the declassified files, which will be released by the Centre and made accessible to the common man.

The centre had earlier announced that it will declassify the files relating to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in various phases and make them available to the common man.

Of the total batch of 25, there are about 7 PMO files from 1951-2000, 4 Home Ministry files from 2000-2008 and 14 files belonging to Ministry of External Affairs between 1968 and 1998.

As per reports, file number four from the Prime Minister Office had some missing pages. One of the files from the Ministry of External Affairs of 2001 mentions, “Netaji was not a war criminal”.

The release of these files will further meet the continued public demand to declassify these files and this will also facilitate scholars to carry out further research on the doyen of the freedom movement.
