Centre reviews preparedness of States for swine flu

New Delhi: Union Health Minister J P Nadda has said his ministry has reviewed preparedness of the states affected with H1N1 to manage the situation. Union Health Secretary on Tuesday held a video conference meeting with senior health officials of states of Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh and with the Government of Delhi.The Secretary said that the Health Ministry is regularly monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, in Gujarat, three more persons have died of Swine Flu, taking the death toll in the State to 45. 35 new cases have been registered in Gujarat, as the total number of Swine Flu cases has gone up to 355. Swine Flu in Punjab has claimed three lives in this year till date. With death of 10 more Swine Flu patients death toll has risen to 62 in the Punjab.
Meanwhile, Central teams have been sent to Telangana, Rajasthan and Gujarat to assess the situation and help them to manage the cases.
