Kolkata: Ahead of the KMC polls, the city of joy is under the Central forces. In connection to the deploying of the Central forces the Police Commissioner of Bengal Surajit Kar Purakayastha sat for a meeting at Kalamandir on Wednesday. Riding on the technology, the police will use the drones to get a better view of the proceedings at the time of the vote. Temporary control rooms will also be set up at dedicated junctions which will be linked to the Lalbazar directly.
There will be adequate security forces at the booths. 70 heavy radio flying squad and 34 radio flying squads will also be provided. The OCs of the police station of the areas will also play a vital role in ensuring the safety at the time of the vote
The police and the security forces will patrol all the corners of the city at regular intervals, according to the Kolkata police. The Central forces will reach step into the city on Thursday, April 15. 3 companies of forces will come in the city. The crowded areas of the city like Howrah and Sealdah Station, eminent shopping malls and other places will be under strict surveilence during the election, says the police sources.
