Celebs rock the ramp for a ‘Better Tomorrow’

Kolkata: Fashion shows are nothing new in the City of JoyBut For the first time in history, Kolkata witnessed a Fashion Show of a very different kind. “SEEDZ- An Initiation for a Better Tomorrow“, a Charity Fashion show where celebrities from all fields walked the ramp hand-in-hand with the Street Children of Hope Kolkata Foundation was held at Novotel, Kolkata on Saturday. The event was concept by Dalia Mukherjee produced by Spicy Entertainment and initiated by Peedee.

This unique Fashion Show was attended & supported by a lot eminent personalities like Soha Ali Khan, Rituparna Sengupta,Tollywood Actress; Priyanshu Chatterjee, Bollywood Actor; Pritam Singh, Television Actor; Diandra Soares, Model; Sushant Divgikar, Model; Mannara Chopra, Bollywood Actress; Dimpy Ganguly, Model; Abir Chatterjee, Tollywood Actor; Mumtaz Sorcar, Tollywood Actress; Arjun Chakraborty, Tollywood Actor; Agnimitra Paul, Fashion Designer; Hiran Chatterjee, Tollywood Actor; Ena Saha, Tollywood Actress; Indrani Dutta, Tollywood Actress; Bobby Chakraborty, Tollywood Actor; Raghab Chatterjee, Singer/Musician; Mahesh Jalan, Celebrity Astrologer; Kartik Das Baul, Singer/Musician; June Malia, Tollywood Actress;Moubani Sorcar, Actress; Jai Kishan, GM of Novotel; Dalia Mukherjee, Event & Concept Maker; Dijiraj Das, Initiator & Director of Peedee; Snehashish Bhattacharya, Designer; Deepak Chandak, CEO of Spicy Entertainment & Media Ltd.; Debosmita Ghosh Dastidar, Director of Spicy Entertainment & Media Ltd and many other renowned socialites, corporate honchos and celebrities. The Show Stoppers of this event were Soha Ali Khan & Rituparna Sengupta and the garments were be designed by Snehashish Bhattacharya.

Underprivileged children in Kolkata got their share of limelight when Celebrities from Bollywood, Tellywood and Tollywood walked the ramp hand-in-hand at these 2 hours of glitz and glamour charity Fashion Show with them from 6 p.m. onwards at Novotel, Kolkata in support of Hope Kolkata Foundation’s initiative for promotion of basic education among children from underprivileged communities. This was a fund raiser event for Hope Foundation which would be using the cash collected for the betterment of the children who are not blessed with facilities like education and basic necessity. This evening saw more than 48 celebrities and socialites who walked the ramp to support the cause and enlighten the minds of others to think differently towards the society. The event entry was only by invites and witnessed 300-400 HNI, Bureaucrats, Press/Media and who’s who of Kolkata to grace the occasion.

The event started with the Welcoming of Guests followed by the first section of the Fashion Show named – “HERITAGE OF KOLKATA”. Acclaimed personalities like Karthik Baul, Agnimitra Paul, Jai Kishan, Sourendra, Soumojit, Moubani Sorcar, Debashish Dhar, Raghab Chatterjee, Moupia Nandy, Mr. Mittal, Mrs. Mittal, Manavi, Dr. B.D Mukherjee, June Malia, Mr. Vimal Lahoti, Mr. Amit Lahoti, indrani Dutta, Kalyan Bhaumik, Sonali Choudhary, Bobby Chakroborty, Scott Furssedonn Wood, Liz Fursseonn Wood andRituparna Sengupta sashayed down the ramp along with children from Hope Kolkata Foundation in this segment. As the evening progressed, a Dance performance by Aksshat Raj Saluja & Abhishek Avasthi enthralled the audience with their stimulating act. They were further joined by Mayookh.

Subsequently, the second segment of the Fashion Show  named – “PORIBORTON – The Change Fashion Show” took place where Abir Chatterjee, Manara Chopra, Arjun Chakroborty, Ena Saha, Mehtab Husain, Tridha Choudhary, Anindo, Pooja, Mainak Banerjee, Julie, Vikram Chatterjee, Sampurna Lahiri, Surojit Chatterjee, Corina, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Mumtaz Sorcar, Shataf, Diandra, Sushant Divgikar, Suchandra Vanya, Mahesh Jalan, Dimpy Ganguly, Pritam and Soha Ali Khan further united with the show & the noble cause behind it.

On this occasion Dalia Mukherjee, Event & Concept Maker said, “It’s a moment of great pride and joy to see that our initiative is being supported by each & every one present here this evening. The role of the celebrities in terms of encouraging people to come forward played a very crucial role for this event. At the end of the day, if those who have achieved something in their lives don’t look back and lend a helping hand, then there is no point to society. Such encouragement is what makes the fabric of society or knits society together.’’
