Kolkata: CBI again is going to interrogate Former Transport minister Madan Mitra in jail, CBI sources said. They have already filed petition in Alipur Court.
Madan Mitra’s lawyer said that when they will take the petition copy then they will urge for hearing in court. CBI sources said that they kept on eye on court’s decision.
Earlier West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday extended her support to jailed former state transport minster Madan Mitra who is an accused in the multi-crore Saradha scam and said she believed his innocence. Mamata said, “I believe Madan Mitra is not involved in the scam and has been falsely implicated.”
However, the sudden change in Mamata’s overture has raised eyebrows as she had earlier kept mum on the Madan issue. Mamata had earlier commented that a party cannot be blamed for a crime committed by an individual indirectly hitting at Madan Mitra and other Saradha scam accused.
