CBI Sends Notice To Subrata Bakshi, Derek O’Brien


Kolkata: The CBI has sent notice to Subrata Bakshi and Derek O’Brien over the picture issue. In order to find out where did the money received from selling the paintings, were spent, the officials have summoned these TMC’s account holders.

According to sources, Derek has been asked to appear before CBI office in the third week of this month. He is also another account holder of TMC.

It has been known that when the money laundering issues came to the fore, these people were responsible for the TMC’s account. Two more names are there in the list. One is Mamata Banerjee’s former personal assistant Manik Majumder and the other is BJP leader Mukul Roy. At that time, Roy also used to take care of the TMC’s account.

The ED and CBI central agencies conducted raids at chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s former personal assistant Manik Majumder’s house on Thursday over the painting controversy. As per sources, the raid was to enquire about Mamata Banerjee’s painted pictures being sold and about party fund.

According to CBI, though he was summoned earlier, but he did not arrive due to his old age. However, the locals protested when the CBI officials tried entering Majumder’s house.
