Kolkata: The national agency is speeding up with their work in an effort to meet the deadline of submitting their report on the Narada scam to the High Court.
The Crime Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) has already seen almost the entire of the 428 minutes footage of the Narada scam. As per sources, 21 files were successfully opened. The CBI has already made a detailed list carrying names that are likely to be summoned.
Matthew Samuel is the first in their list and has already sent an email consisting of a set of 12 questions. He is at present in Kochi and already a team has already reached his house at Delhi. He might be questioned today at Kochi by a 3-member team. The CBI officials have already set up an 8-member team under the leadership of Nagendra Prasad, SP, CBI.
The Narada sting operation unfolded in March 2016, after a website, Naradanews.com, broke the story, just days before the West Bengal Assembly elections (which began on 4 April).
In a 23-minute clip – broadcast widely on both local and national news channels – at least a dozen top leaders of Mamata Banerjee’s ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) were caught openly accepting cash from reporters who conducted the sting.
