ISI Kolkata Module Targets Fort William: Police


Kolkata: In a startling revelation made by arrested ISI agent Akhtar Khan, it was revealed that a catering business run by Khan has been used as a mask under which a complicated Pakistani spy network worked in the city, said police on Sunday.

Khan and his associates apparently used his catering business to gain access to higher echelon of the society and were gathering vital information regarding the defense installation in Kolkata and West Bengal.

Akhtar was nabbed on Saturday evening by a joint team of special task force of Kolkata Police and sleuths of Intelligence Bureau following a few days of surveillance. The sleuths are also interrogating Akhtar on is Dubai visit.

Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police, Rajib Mishra said that Akhtar was in constant touch with ISI backed terror organizations in Karachi and even had militant training in Pakistan.

The sleuths were keeping an eye on Akhtar, who was living at his sister’s homuse in Tiljala area of the city. Police also said that Akhtar used to visit a office located in Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road and is believed to own a house in Collin Street.

During interrogation it has been revealed that Akhtar used to gather intelligence report on defense installation like Fort William and BSF camp in Panagarh area. The sleuths said that Akhtar believed to be a Pakistani national infiltrated into India via Nepal in 2011.

The arrest of a Pakistani agent in the heart of the city has send ripples of concern in the security establishment.
