Call Floor Test To Detect Majority Of Sasikala Or Panneer: AG To TN Governor

Chennai: Attorney general Mukul Rohatgi has advised Tamil Nadu governor Vidyasagar Rao to hold composite floor test in the Assembly pitting O Paneerselvam against Sasikala to test who commands majority to take over as the Chief Minister.

The attorney general has suggested that a special session of Assembly be summoned by him in a week for testing the support enjoyed by Paneerselvam and Sasikala.

Mukul Rohatgi has cited the precedent of composite floor test between Jagadmabika Pal and Kalyan Singh in UP assembly in 1990s to support his suggestion for Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is likely to pronounce its judgment in the disproportionate assets case against Sasikala on Tuesday.Sasikala has maintained that she enjoys the support of the majority of AIADMK MLAs, who are camped in two resorts.

However, chief minister Panneerselvam claims that the MLAs have been held captive+ by the Sasikala camp and will eventually support him.

A message to the Governer that he can delay the things for another week. A secret ballot by MLAs choosing between the two CM aspirants will be ideal.Prithviraj Kumar

In the last few days, several MLAs, MPs and leaders have switched sides to support Panneerselvam.

Sasikala, meanwhile, has accused Panneerselvam of trying to break the party.
