Kolkata: Post graduate students of the Calcutta University will now be able to study in Sri Lanka from now on. The professors will also be able to go to Sri Lanka and teach there. Chancellor of CU Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee signed a MoU with a renowned Sri Lanka’s Ruhana University. As a result of the signed MoU, the students and teachers of the Sri Lankan university will also be able to come to the Calcutta University.
The Ruhana University had offered for the MoU to the Calcutta University. Based on this offer, the CU students and professors will be able to go to the Ruhana University for a particular period of time, and vice-versa. After discussing on the prospects of the offer, the CU gave the green signal. Vice-Chancellor of Ruhana University Gamini Senanayak was present on Wednesday at the Calcutta University.
The officials from the Ruhana University came and took a tour around the entire Calcutta University. Post this, Gamini Senanayak and Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee
signed the MoU.
The MoU thus signed, is valid for five years. Not only the knowledge will be exchanged but there will be enough scope for research. Students and professors of CU are excited over this scope.
