Calcutta HC Recruits Huge Assistant Registrars


High Court at Calcutta, Original Side, is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 18 posts of Assistant Registrar (Court Recording). Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format (See PDF below) along with testimonials.

Vacancy Details:


No. of Vacancies: 18 Nos. (UR-07, SC-06, ST-01, OBC-04)

Educational Qualification: Graduation from the Calcutta University or an equivalent examination of a statutory Indian or other University and/or Institution and must possess knowledge of vernacular of the State of West Bengal as well as good knowledge of the English language.

Candidates should be able to take down depositions of witness, judgments, orders, etc. in ‘shorthand’ at a speed of at least 160 words per minute and transcribe those to ‘printed form’ in English at a speed of at least 40 words per minute with the aid of a computer accurately, as far as practicable.

Age Limit: Minimum-18 years and maximum-32 years as on 09/06/2017.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600 – Rs.42,000 with Grade Pay Rs.5400/- and other allowances

Candidates’ Selection: Selection shall be made on the basis of a competitive test.
Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.300/- (Rs.75/- SC/ST/PWD) as Examination Fee.
