Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court bench of justice Shibaprasad on Wednesday has quashed the plea of Kolkata-based actor Bikram Chatterjee. The actor has asked for respite from the legal procedure in the Sonika Singh Chauhan death case.
In his verdict, the justice has ordered the lower court to give pace in making the charge sheet. Initially, the actor has pleaded in Alipore Court asking for respite from the legal procedure. But the court rejected that. Then he urged to Calcutta High Court in last year Durga Puja.
After the hearing process,justice Shivaknta Prasad has rejected the plea and said that the decision of lower court will be the final verdict. So no respite from the legal procedure of Sonika Singh Chauhan death case.
After partying in at least two nightclubs, Mr Chatterjee was dropping Ms Chauhan home in the early hours of April 29 when the car crashed. He rushed her to hospital but she died 40 minutes later.
