Business stopped at the Indo-Bangla border

Balurghat: Alleging corruption on the weight of exported materials, the businessmen of the Indo-Bangladesh border today decided to close their business indefinitely.

The strike has been called since Tuesday. Sources said that long queue of trucks can be seen standing along the Bangladesh border.

The materials are weighed once before the truck leaves the country and weighed again when the reaches the other side. The businessmen alleged that the weight of the goods is found to be less once they are weighed on Bangladesh’s side.

The costs of the materials are cut from the wages of the Driver and the Helper of the trucks, which has raised waves of resentment.

So, the businessmen have decided that unless these things are resolved the business will be closed.
