Bus Hits Sisters, Kills 1 At Raiganj


Raiganj: A school student lost her life after a tragic road accident at number 34 national highway of Raiganj on Tuesday morning.

According to a local, a speeding bus hit two school girls at Kulik Bridge of 34 no. national highway. One of them died on spot. Bipasha Sarkar and Sonali Sarkar two sisters of Manipara village were on their way to school on their bicycle when the bus hit them. Sonali, the elder sister died on the spot. The other sister, Bipasha was rushed to the Raiganj hospital where the doctors have stated her condition to be ‘critical‘.

Deceased Sonali Sarkar was a student of class 9 of the Parvati Devi Balika Vidyalay. Her sister, Bipasa is a class 1 student of the same school.

Raiganj’s number 34 national highway of Pakkhinibas locality is an accident prone zone.  Thus, accidents are frequent. After this mishap, angry local sat on a protest at the National Highway. They have threatened to continue their protest until and unless the concerned authorities do not take immediate step to curb this type of regular misery at this road.
