Mumbai: A three-storeyed building has collapsed in Maharashtra’s Thane district. Two people have been killed and around 50 were trapped in the debris.
The building ‘Matru Chhaya’, located at Thakurli, “crashed around 10.40 pm, following heavy downpour,” Regional Disaster Management Committee chief Santosh Kadam said.
A massive relief and rescue operation has begun and so far, three injured persons have been rescued and rushed to the hospital.
Fire brigade teams from Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi, and Ambernath have been rushed to the site.
