Kolkata: Two persons were injured when a dilapidated building collapses in Central Kolkata’s Hare Street in the wee hours of Monday. The incident took place at 34 (a) Hare Street’a Brabourne Road.
The victims were identified as Joy Sukhlal and his son Ganesh Sukhlal. The Sukhlal family was lying under the three-storey building. As per reports, a portion from the second floor collapsed and fell on them.
The local people immediately rushed to the spot to rescue the injured persons. Later, the disaster management team and the local police came to rescue them. Both the injured persons were admitted to the nearby Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. After primary treatment, their physical condition is stable now.
There are several families living in the three-storey building, including few offices. Locals are in panic after the incident. As per reports, the Municipal Corporation will soon break part of the house.
