Jerusalem: Before winding up his historic three-day Israel tour, the first one by an Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi went on a beach party with his friend and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
At the popular Olga Beach, an hour’s drive from Tel Aviv, the two leaders opened their shoes, pulled up trousers above the ankles, and enjoyed a lazy walk in the waters after two days of serious work of upgrading bilateral ties. They were seen enjoying the light breeze blowing over the picturesque blue waters.
Netanyahu and Modi attended a demonstration of a desalination vehicle, tasted the purified seawater and rode the unique vehicle.
None other than Netanyahu himself drove the jeep for PM Modi. Netanyahu tweeted a photo of him and Modi giving a personal touch to their beach party. He said, “There’s nothing like going to the beach with friends!”.
Modi’s personal chemistry with Netanyahu has caught lot of attention. Both of them have spoken of friendship, beyond bilateral relations. The media has lost count of how many times the duo hugged each other in public.
The Israeli premier has accompanied Modi almost like a shadow since Modi landed there on the first visit by an Indian premier to the Jewish state.
