Kolkata: Former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya for the first time campaigned on Tuesday for the ongoing Assembly Elections.
He campaigned for three of CPM’s election candidates Sujan Chakraborty, Satarup Ghosh and Madhuja Sen Roy. A road show was organized from Dhakuria to Garia for the campaign.
Along with the CPM Supporters, the Congress supporters also walked in the rally for the fourth phase of the Assembly Elections. The turnout was noticeable. Similar turnout was recorded in 2011 when Buddhadeb Bhattacharya was the CPM candidate himself.
The former CM kept silent due to his health reasons. But we heard Jadavpur’s candidate, Sujan Chakroborty speaking. He said that the government has already been malighned for both the Sarada and Narada issue and that would land the Trinamool party in jail.
It is speculated that Buddhadeb’s public appearance in support of 3 CPM candidates would draw more votes and help the party in the long run.
