BSP Leader Shot Dead in Varanasi


Varanasi: A senior Bahunan Samaj Party(BSP) leader Ram Bihari Choube was shot dead by criminals inside his house in Choubeypur police station on Friday morning.

Police said that four criminals, who came in two motorcycles barged into the house of BSP leader Ram Bihar Choubey and pumped several bullets into him at Srikanthpur village. The victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The assailants fled from scene immediately after the crime. The victim is said to be a close associate of mafia don Brajesh Singh, who is presently lodged in the Varanasi jail and was very active in the ongoing panchayat elections. Police said that gang rivalry could be the reason behind the killing.
