Malda: Chaos spread in the area after a clash broke out between BSF and cow smugglers at the Malda’s Indo-Bangladesh border.

An Indian cow smuggler was left injured after the BSF fired. He is presently admitted at a private hospital under critical condition. On the other hand, at the other side of the border, a Bangladeshi cow smuggler was shot down by the BSF. The incident took place at Sashani area in Malda’s Indo-Bangladesh border.

The injured Indian smuggler is Jahid Sheikh who has bullet injury in his head. However, his family has rejected all claims and said that he is not involved in cow smuggling. According to the family, he went to the border area to cut grass. The BSF shot fires at the smugglers. He got injured by that fire-shot. He was first taken to the Malda Medical College and Hospital. But presently he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Malda.

At the other side of the Sashani border, infamous cow smuggler Mohammad Jem of Bangladesh’s Chapainbabganj district was shot dead by the BSF.

Cow smuggling in the border area increased recently. The cows are smuggled from Kaliachowk’s Sashani, Daulatpur to Bangladesh’s Monakosha and Masudpur area. The locals have accused the BSF of shooting regularly to curb the increasing cow smuggling menace. Hence, the security of the locals also comes under doubt. In the past few days, two consecutive events occurred.
