Kolkata: MET office Kolkata in the latest update has stated that there will be heavy to very heavy rainfall in the five districts of the North Bengal in the next 24 hours due to presence of monsoon Axis, predicts the Regional Meteorological Office in Alipore. However, there will be normal rain in the districts of South Bengal.

There will be a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Sikkim including Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Coochbehar. Now monsoon axis has passed over North Bengal. The meterogical Office has issued warnings to the hill districts in the next five days.

Monsoon Axis line was prevailing over coastal part of South Bengal. Till Tuesday the monsoon axis line was prevailing on Kolkata which has moved towards North Bengal. Huge amount of moisture entering from North side of Bay of Bengal which may cause heavy rain in North Bengal.

The Central Meteorological Department forecasted heavy downpour in North-West India Assam, Manipur, Nagaland. It will be 70 to 120 millimeters of rain per day.
