Kolkata: HM Rajnath Singh called up West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and expressed serious concern over reports of violence near the venue of the rally of BJP President Amit Shah in East Midnapore on Tuesday. He has asked CM that those indulging in violence should be brought to book.
Soon after Amit Shah’s rally got over, buses of party workers were vandalised. This has led to utter chaos is the area. These buses which came from different parts of the district were kept beside 116 B national highway. Miscreants vandalised 50-60 buses while the rally was underway.
It is being alleged that with the help of local TMC goons, the vandalism took place. On this Mukul Roy said that the goons of the ruling party carried on this attack. However, TMC district president Sisir Adhikari rejected all such allegations and said that the BJP themselves did it to create violence in the area.
On the other hand, the BJP party has been accused of vandalising TMC party office. Chaos erupted at Kanthi over clashes between workers of both the TMC and BJP party. Till now, a total of 20 people have been injured. Among the injured are on-duty police officials. Several workers-supporters of both TMC and BJP parties are also injured.
All the injured have been rushed to a local hospital. A huge police force have been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control. The police have started route-march too. The top officers of district police are also present. A search operation has been launched already to find the culprits.
