Seoul: Prime Minister Narendra Modi awarded the Seoul Peace Prize on Friday. This award does not belong to me personally but to the people of India, the success India has achieved in the last 5 years, powered by the skill of 1.3 billion people, Modi said.
On 21 February, he unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi along with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at Yonsei University.
“It is a matter of great honour and my good fortune to unveil the bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Korea’s premier university,” Modi said. The prime minister will also receive the Seoul Peace Prize, announced by the Seoul Peace Prize Foundation in October last year.
On Friday,22 February, PM Modi paid tribute at the Seoul National Cemetery and was accorded ceremonial reception at the official residence of South Korean President. Later, he addressed the media after bilateral talks with the Korean President.
