Agartala: The Tripura government has cancelled the holiday of May day. It has sparked debate as the BJP government has cancelled the internationally-celebrated May Day holiday for the governmental employees.
The May Day holiday has been put under ‘restricted holiday’ list by the Tripura government. Till date, the government employees were entitled to holiday on May Day. But this year it has been cancelled. Any government employee can go to their office or may not on this day. Debates have already sparked as to why did the Tripura government declare it as a ‘restricted holiday.’
The oppositions have claimed that the government has taken their own decision to ignore the politically or internationally claimed holiday. The Tripura government published the notice mentioning the decision.
