Jalpaiguri: A low intensity quake jolts North Bengal on Sunday evening. An earthquake of 4.7 magnitude struck Sikkim today, with tremors being strongly felt in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and many more places in North Bengal.
The quake occurred at a depth of 28 km below the earth’s surface in the Sikkim region. No loss of property reported yet. Sikkim met department said that the quake hits the Sikkim border at first.
Meanwhile, there are no reports of any casualty or damage to property.
