Havana: Boeing 737 plane has crashed moments after taking off from Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport.
The Cubana de Aviacion flight was headed for the city of Holguin, on the eastern side Cuba, when it went down near a high school campus on Friday. Multiple casualties are reported although numbers are not yet clear, a source told CNN.
The plane reportedly crashed shortly after takeoff. It was bound for Holguin, a domestic flight of about one hour and 20 minutes. In a picture taken from inside the airport, a plume of black smoke can be seen rising from the end of a runway, as firefighters responded to the incident.
