Bengal Govt Declares To Extend Summer Vacation Till June 30


Kolkata: West Bengal Education minister Partha Chatterjee in a press conference on Monday extended the summer vacation till June 30 as heatwave scorching the children. So after the scheduled summer vacation a eleven days extension have been declared.

He said, the vacations will be implemented in govt schools and govt affiliated school in primary to Higher secondary section. He added that a request will be forwarded to the private schools to keep close school during June 20 to June 30, 2018.

Though it’s a relief for students but teachers are in doubt about the holidays. He said on this, “teachers have to go to school depending on the necessity.” The summer vacation ended on June 10 and the schools have resumed from June 11.

Monsoon officially arrived in West Bengal but humidity is constantly pushing the mercury high towards a uncomfortable condition. The sun is sucking the children with heavy bags. Thus such decision.

Partha Chatterjee in a press conference said, “I’m in contact with the Met office. It is a matter of discussion and CM is out of station now. We’ll discuss it after she returns back to Kolkata.” The prediction turned into decision within few hours.
