Kolkata: Gusty nor’wester winds and heavy rain lashed Kolkata on Tuesday evening. The speed of the storm was 84km/hr.
As per sources the storm hit Dum Dum, Lake Town, Salt Lake, New Town and Dunlop and many places across the city. After a scroching hot afternoon the Kolkatans can now heave a sigh of relief as the storm has brought down the mercury. According to the met office report the speed of the storm was recorded 84km/hr. No loss of life has been reported as of now. Many trees uprooted in Saltlake has crippled traffic on the roads. The city has experienced lightning, thundering, strong winds and heavy rain.
