Bengaluru: Five people died after a fire broke out at a restaurant in Bengaluru early this morning. The fire has been brought under control. The five who died were employees at the restaurant and were sleeping inside when the blaze started.
The incident took place at Kailash bar and restaurant in Kalasipalayam, a busy and congested area in the heart of Bengaluru. The outlet is located in the ground floor of the Kumbaara Sangha building, near a vegetable market.
Three of the victims are in their early twenties. One of them is a 24-year-old woman. The bodies have been taken to the city’s Victoria Hospital for post mortem.
The fire department said people noticed the blaze and smoke at around 2:30 in the morning. Fire tenders pressed into action soon after, they said.
The reason for the fire is not yet known.
