Kolkata: BJP Leader Mukul Roy knocked CM Mamta Bandyopadhyay’s door again to discuss rath yatra issue. On Saturday afternoon, he reached the state secretariat office with other leaders of the party.
Mukul Roy met with Chief Secretary Maloy Dey and Home Secretary Atri Bhattacharya. They will submit fresh papers on ratha-yatra issue. BJP leader Jayaprakash Majumder and Sanjay Singh were also present then.
West Bengal BJP has filed a caveat in Supreme Court on Saturday in connection with the order passed by Calcutta High Court division bench in connection with BJP’s yatra order. Now the state govt will have to give a notice to BJP if they move an application to SC against HC bench order.
Earlier, A Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court on Friday asked the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary and the Director General of Police of West Bengal to hold a meeting with three representatives of the BJP to discuss plans to conduct three legs of a ‘rath yatra.’
“The order passed by the Single Bench is a grave error of law. I propose to modify its order,” said Justice Biswanath Samaddar.
