Kolkata: The state government has reduced the price of petrol and diesel by Re 1 per litre.
It will come into effect from Tuesday mid-night.
Addressing the media at Nabanna, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the
Central government and demanded the withdrawal of CES in case of petro-chemicals.
She said that no part of the CES taken by the Central government, is received by
the state government. She also said that West Bengal is the biggest among the
states which have loans to be settled. 48 thousand crores of rupees are spent every
year to repay the loans.
The CM also said that the excise duty increased 9 times during Modi’s tenure. She pointed out that if the price of petrol-diesel is increased in such a way then price of other petro-chemicals will be increased too. Mamata also said, “The more the price of money is increasing, the value of people are decreasing.”
The CM said that the common people are facing difficulties with the increase in fuel prices for which the government has taken such a decision.
The petrol-diesel prices were increased again on Tuesday which had put the common people into worries. With this decision by the state government, the common peeple are relieved as of now.
