Kolkata: State’s former Food minister and Cooch Behar’s district Forward Block general secretary Paresh Adhikari joined Trinamool Congress Party on Friday. Divided politics and the NRC row are the few allegations the leader made for joining TMC.
Recently, he was made the chairman of the Changrabandha Unnayan Board. Soon after
this, he hinted at joining the ruling party.
Paresh joined the TMC party in the presence of Partha Chatterjee, Rabindranath Ghosh, Udayan Guha, Rajiv Banerjee.
Paresh Adhikari said, “Dividing politics is going on throughout the country. On top of this, the Bengalis are being tortured in the name of NRC. The TMC supremo has protested against this. To strenthen her protest, I have joined TMC.”
The CM had ordered increase of security in Cooch Behar after the publication of NRC
draft list in Assam. On this he said, “I have seen the chaos of the legal citizens.
So the BJP’s decision on NRC cannot be accepted. The Lefts are not saying anything.
So decided to join TMC to oppose against the Central government.”
