Kolkata: West Bengal goverment on Tuesday removed director of medical education Dr Debashis Bhattacharya. Former PG Super and present OSD of Health department Pradip Mitra has been appointed as new director of medical education.
It is clear that Dr Debashis Bhattacharya was removed from his position as a result of the issue of the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital.
Earlier, West Bengal goverment on Monday removed health secretary Anil Verma from his post over medical row. Industrial secretary Rajib Sinha has been appointed as new health secretary. Anil Verma has been moved to the Department of Animal Resources Development as its secretary.
Dr Debashis Bhattacharya has been shifted to the state transport department. The 21 students, who were fasting since 14 days in demand for their inclusion in the new hostel, ended their fast soon after their demands were fulfilled. They broke their fast by drinking fruit juice from their principal, Ashok Bhadra.
