BREAKING: A 4.7 Magnitude Tremor Jolts Cooch Behar


Cooch Behar: A mild earthquake was reported in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal on Tuesday at around 9.18 am. It is known that the the intensity of the tremor was recorded 4.7 Richter scale and it’s epicenter was Barpeta district of Assam. No casualty is reported as of now.

Earlier, the city felt tremors twice in the last couple of weeks. Frictions taking place frequently between the Indiana and Washinia plates. The much important point is that the epicenter of the earthquakes were near these two plates.

According to experts, frequent earthquakes are not only inevitable for Kolkata or West Bengal but for the entire world.

An Earthquake this month of Magnitude 5.5 originated from Konkrajhar of Assam has jolted mostly north bengal districts Malda, Mushidabad, Kurseong, Cooch Behar, North and South Dinajpur, Siliguri, Darjeeling.

Recently, a 22 years old youth died due to panic attack while getting down from the stair when an earthquake was felt in Siliguri this month.
