Thiruvananthapuram: 4 BJP activists have been injured in an explosion near the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Kozhikode.
According to reports, the blast took place near the RSS office at Nadapuram. The police has cordoned off the area after security was tightened in the Nadapuram locality.
The attack targeting the RSS office comes after a series of violent incidents last year. On January 31, a group of CPM activists armed with sticks allegedly attacked a group of RSS workers while they were attending a meeting in Kerala’s northern district of Kannur. One RSS worker was hospitalised following the attack.
Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had condemned the attacks on BJP and RSS workers in Kerala. He said that they were being targeted for their different ideology which could not be allowed in a democracy and had pitched for a nation-wide debate on the issue.
