Mumbai: India’s first female superstar Sridevi passed away on Saturday night in Dubai. The cause of death was earlier said to be that of cardiac arrest but that was ruled out once the forensic report was released. The cause of death was then said to be “accidental drowning”. Since then, the way Indian news channels followed the whole case left a bad taste in many mouths.

TV media’s frantic reporting over the death of veteran actor Sridevi has angered Bollywood celebrities and her fans, who have called the coverage “graceless” and “insensitive”.

Sridevi’s mortal remains will be kept at Celebrations Sports Club in Lokhandwala, where a condolence meet will be held between 9.30 am and 12.30 am on Wednesday. The funeral is expected to take place at Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium after 3:30 pm. Sridevi’s body flown out of Dubai at IST 7.00 pm.

Couple of hours ago Boney Kapoor was finally given the clearance by authorities in Dubai to take the mortal remains to India. Latest update is that Sridevi’s mortal remains are enroute India. But on Twitter celebs as well as fans have taken a stand where they have requested the media to let Sridevi rest in peace. The hashtag #LetHerRestInPeace is trending at third number.
