Dhaka: A boat capsized in the Padma river on Tuesday which claimed 7 lives, including 5 Indians.
A boat carrying cattle capsized in the Padma river. Atleast 7 people are dead. Out of which 5 are Indians and 2 are Bangladeshis. The mishap took place at Charghat in Rajshahi in Bangladesh. As per Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), stormy winds were the sole cause of the reason behind the accident.
OC of Charghat Police Station, Nibaran Chandra Barman said, “All the missing are cattle traders. Their boat capsized due to heavy winds and high waves.” The locals immediately dived into the water to rescue them. Later on, 7 dead bodies were recovered. Confirmation report of 5 Indians were sent to the BSF.
