New Delhi: In order to prevent accidents, Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday announced that blue light will be installed in the gate coach of the local trains to avoid accidents. In the first move, The Central Railways is planning to install blue light at the gate of coaches which will guide the passengers about the train movement.
He tweeted, “In Mumbai, for the passengers climbing in the train, blue light is being installed at the gate of the coach, who will guide the passengers that the train has started. It will prevent accidents when the passengers are trying to bode the train.” The minister also shared a video in the tweet.
The suburban railway is considered the lifeline of Mumbai, but thousands of people lost their lives in train accidents every year. The accidents happen when the passengers are either crossing the track or falling from the moving train. It is reported that 3,014 people lost their lives in accidents on rail tracks in the city in 2017.
Recently, the railway ministry decided to take disciplinary action against Union minister Jitendra Singh’s OSD for casting aspersions against its minister Piyush Goyal and questioning the wisdom of senior government officials in an article.
