Blow to Bangladesh, Injured Mahmudullah ruled out of India series


Fatullah:  Bangladesh’s front line batsman Mohammad Mahmudullah was, on Thursday, ruled out of this month’s home matches against India after he fractured a finger during practice. Mahmudullah left the practice session with his injured finger heavily bandaged. Nasir Hossain has been called up to replace Mahmudullah in the Bangladesh squad for the only Test against India starting in Fatullah on 10 June 2015

“Mahmudullah hurt the index finger on his left hand while attempting a catch during training today. X-rays revealed a fracture which usually takes three to four weeks to heal,” team physiotherapist Bayedul Islam told reporters in Dhaka.

The 29-year old all-rounder was the star of Bangladesh’s run to the quarter-finals of the 2015 World Cup. He scored 365 runs in six innings at 73 including two hundreds and a fifty.”Mahmudullah will begin his rehab under the BCBs medical team in the next couple of days,” a BCB media release said.
