Blast Kills Two In Bardhaman District


Bardhaman: Two persons, reportedly Trinamool Congress activists, have died in a bomb blast in the Ketugram area of Bardhaman district on the early hours of Wednesday.

Residents said that there was tension in the area following clashes between two rival factions of the Trinamool over the construction of a check dam in the river. Reportedly, the explosion took place when one of the factions was assembling crude bombs.

A huge police team along with the bomb squad has reached the spot. An investigation has been launched and search is on for the people responsible for assembling the explosives.

Bengal has witnessed a mushrooming bomb making units over the years with the patronage of political parties who often uses the crude bombs as a means to create chaos and terrorize the oppositions parties voters.

Several IB alert of a growing Jihadi cells in the state has been issued and months ago several ISI operatives have been nabbed by the security agencies from Kolkata.
