Blast Killed 30 In Baghdad Shi’ite Holy Site


Baghdad: At least 30 people have been killed and 50 others wounded in a car bomb attack on a Shi’ite mausoleum north of Baghdad, security sources said, according to Reuters. Several gunmen reportedly stormed the site, opening fire on Eid al-Fitr festival pilgrims.

Iraqi security forces said three bombers detonated their explosives late on Thursday night near the shrine of Sayyid Muhammed bin Ali al-Hadi in the city of Balad, located about 93 kilometres (58 miles) north of the capital Baghdad.
